Organizational Skill

Well, when I asked the teacher about this topic, I was told that this was rather about the UKMs, or Student Activity Units. Because of that I’ll explain about it a little, from my perspective, and which ones that I joined.

The UKMs are like clubs, or extra curriculum activities in schools. They have various units that are categorized into several categories based on the kind of activity they do, such as:

  • Sports
  • Reasoning (I can’t understand why they call it reasoning)
  • Martial Arts (or Self-Defense, as they call it on their website)
  • Arts
  • Information Media
  • Streaming (Somewhat like hobby or something?)
  • Religious
  • Community

There are a lot of UKM in BINUS, and I’m not able to explain every single one, so I’ll tell you, the readers, which one that I joined. I joined only one UKM, the Tae Kwon Do UKM. It’s one of the UKM from the Martial Arts category. For those of you who don’t know what Tae Kwon Do is, it’s a martial art from Korea. It’s quite popular & has been around for a long time.

General Orientation (FEP Binusian 2019)

Since this post is made way after the GO ended, I’m posting my opinions about it.

I was glad that the orientation didn’t require us to do weird things or  wear any ridiculous things. Although I don’t quite like having to wear the same kind of white shirt & black pants, it was still better than wearing embarrassing things, like name tags from cardboard. The Buddy Coordinators, or BC for short, are very friendly, compared to those at other universities (Well, maybe some are similar to BINUS). They gave us quite a lot of information regarding of campus life there & tips on how to take advantage of the system.

The General Orientation explained general things about the campus, such as the majors, campus locations, the online system, etc . Basically, everything that you need to know as a freshman about BINUS University & how everything works there. Overall, it was, in my opinion, a great orientation for the new students enrolling at the university.
